We all need a little passion in our lives. The monotony and stress of everyday life sometimes bog us down so we feel like we’re operating on autopilot. Jobs, kids and family obligations take precedence, but they sometimes leave little left over for ourselves.
Passion can come in a variety of ways. Passionate love immediately comes to mind, but it can not be sustained indefinitely. Love affairs eventually end or, in the best cases, become comfortable and less urgent.
The kind of passion I’m referring to is the intangible feeling we get when we’re doing something that we either enjoy so much or believe in so deeply that we lose track of time and feel wide awake and full of life. For some, this feeling is found through a creative endeavor, like writing or art. For some, it’s found supporting a sports team or athlete. For still yet others, it’s found working for a cause or charity that’s deeply believed in.
If you already feel this type of passion, at least occasionally, in your life, cling to it. If not, ask yourself what really matters most to you and find it. I promise it will be worth it.
