Of course, if you’re one of the many (actually few) reading this, chances are you’re pretty blessed too, and I’ll tell you why:
1. Although you may not be rich, you have internet access. Whether you’re reading this on your phone, computer or at the local library, you have the money or resources that many do not.
2. You have leisure time. Ok, you’re busy. But, chances are, if you were working three jobs or scrounging for your next meal, you wouldn’t have taken time to read this post, brilliant as it might be.
3. You’re reading this post. You have the education and intellect for at least basic English literacy, a near-necessity if you live in an English-speaking country.
Sure, many people are struggling right now. Many have lost jobs, and some are coping with additional losses of family members or relationships. However, hopefully the above reasons can put some problems in perspective.
So, have a great Thanksgiving! And, come Friday when you’re Christmas shopping, consider giving a dollar to the Salvation Army bellringer and a smile to the overworked cashier!
