soccer“Stay in control of the ball, Shane!” Coach Mark shouted at me from the sidelines.

I nodded but didn’t take my eye off the ball, as I dribbled between the opposing team’s defense.

“Shane, I’m open,” Nathan called from the corner of the field.

“I got it,” I responded. I saw a straight shot to the goal. I coudn’t always defend the ball the best, but I was usually the fastest player on the field. We were down 3-2 with less than thirty seconds on the clock. I knew I was our best shot for a win.

I made it alone to within ten feet of the goal and kicked the ball as hard as I could around the goalie. It was in. Goal!
